The fruit tree avenue on Weierbach in Alt-Marl has become a fruit tree museum in 2010. By 2014, a total of 102 fruit trees had been planted on a former nettle meadow.
Many Marler citizens as sponsors have donated the fruit trees. Mainly old varieties that are no longer on the market were used. Initially, the only plan was to create a beautiful, inviting avenue in the shadow of the Weierbach, in the shadow of which people like to stay. The idea of a fruit tree avenue quickly developed into the concept of a fruit tree museum.
With the last tree planting in 2014, the capacity of the area was exhausted, there is no more space for more trees. The facility is particularly worth seeing in spring at the time of fruit blossom.

A wonderful oasis and a great initiative (as already described). An attraction at any time of year, especially for (dog) walkers. But of course there is the most to enjoy and see when the fruit trees are in bloom and when there is activity in and around the beehives.

Voles have been endangering the fruit trees for some time. As an original countermeasure, a small flock of sheep was "installed" whose clatter is intended to cause unrest and drive away the mice.

Wonderful oasis that also invites you to linger thanks to the available benches. Especially in spring, the blooming fruit trees are just great to look at. During a tour of the orchard, you can examine the trees up close. So great and valuable precisely because of the simplicity.
