A former observation tower of the former US Observation Post (OP) INDIA, which closed with the camp in 1991.
In 2017, the observation tower was declared a monument named Point India.
From the tower pulpit, with explanatory display boards, there is a good view towards the Ringgau (Netra) and over Ifta to Creuzburg.
A large, bilingual information board is installed in the open tower room, below the viewing platform of the Lüderbach observation tower. On which the history of the US camp is shown with many pictures. In the stone table there is a tower book in which you can sign.

From a cultural and historical perspective, this bike tour is exciting, as it leads over and along the former zone border several times and border fortifications can also be experienced here. A route, alternating over short forest stretches and again and again open land, allows many, wide views. It is named after the Point India observation tower on the Sohlberg. It is the relic of a large US military base (OP-India), built in 1984.
On the Heldrastein there is an observation tower, the tower of unity. Border information is reminiscent of the former inner-German border. Wonderful views of the Hessian and Thuringian Werra valleys, in good weather all the way to the Harz Mountains, delight every cyclist here.
