St. Petri is mentioned for the first time in 1187 as the mother church of the church in Niendorf (today a desert place), has a Romanesque tower that had a four-sided lead roof until the 30 Years War and in 1686 was given the “Welsche hood” (renovated in 2010) .

The ship was rebuilt enlarged in 1742 after the north side.

A stone figure of St. Peter is attached to both doors of the nave as external decoration.

The altar from 1744 has a pulpit in the middle from the altar of the previous church. The carved organ case is from 1750, behind it is a Rühlmann organ from 1900.

In the west wall of the ship there are 4 tombs (of the patronage family at the time) of well-preserved works from the 16th century.

There is also something to see inside:
Ceiling in the nave "Crucifixion" - Gregorius Böldicke 1612.
North wall (former patron's lodge) "Last Judgment" not dated.
South wall undated large crucifix (approx. 15th century).

The organ parapet shows 3 medallions: Fall - Baptism of Christ - ResurrectionSacristy "Last Judgment" not dated.

The altar was built in 1744 after the church was enlarged (1742). “The legend goes that Ms. Magdalene Sophie v. Stedern (patron saint) plagued by unrest of conscience because of the men who died in 1734 ("beer war") ... who donated the magnificent altar as an atonement altar. "

In addition, there are full-figured lead glass windows from the glass manufacturer Müller from Quedlinburg at the end of the 19th century; 3 of the originally 8 windows survived the Second World War, which could be restored in 2013.
