The term "Wernloch" refers to several abandoned quarries near Wendelstein. The Wernloch 1236 was mentioned for the first time in a document. The sandstone mined here was used for numerous important buildings in Nuremberg, some of which were exported to Turkey and Hungary. Today you can go mountain biking in the area but also hike, in places it looks super rustic👍

Many beautiful and exciting trail`s around the Wernloch, near the beautiful village Wendelstein. Definitely worth a tour !! Up and down through the forest.

yes, you can really only recommend. Also be careful there are some rocky edges, which are unsecured and where it is quite 10-15m deep.
