    The 1000-year-old oak is a natural monument in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock in the Gütersloh district in North Rhine-Westphalia.

    The 1000-year-old oak stands west of the Schloss Holte district at a height of around 110 meters in the middle of the Holter Forest, around 350 meters southwest of the Holte hunting lodge. The course of the Ölbach stream is in the immediate vicinity of the tree.

    The 1000-year-old oak shares its name with a number of other old oaks with an actual, estimated or claimed age of around 1000 years. The age of the Schloss Holte specimen, however, is estimated at 400 to 500 years. The lower third of the trunk of the pedunculate oak has been hollowed out due to fungal infestation, and the stability of the trunk is impaired by three longitudinal openings. In order to preserve the tree, it has already undergone several tree surgery measures, including cutting back the treetop several times to relieve the strain on the trunk. The breast height is 8.15 m
