The remains of the Ehrenburg are below Herzhausen am Edersee.
Like almost all castles in the area, it is a fortified mountain spur. In this case it is the mountain spur of the Ehrenberg, which falls steeply on three sides. With a length of about 160 meters and a width of about 60 meters, the Ehrenburg was the largest castle on the middle Eder. However, only ditches and ramparts and a few remains of walls have been preserved.

The Ehrenburg is below Herzhausen am Edersee, just to the west of the campground on the Hochstein and directly on the Urwaldsteig.
Like almost all castles in the area, it is a fortified mountain spur. In this case it is the mountain spur of the Ehrenberg, which falls steeply on three sides. Of the Ehrenburg are only the highly visible double rampart and a foundation of a tower preserved. Nevertheless, very worth seeing. Nice point to rest.
