Beautiful castle ruins, probably built at the beginning of the 14th century, with a wonderful view of Franconian Switzerland. The ruin is freely accessible all year round. At the entrance to the ruin, you can get the first information about the former castle from a well-made display board. The castle was already abandoned in 1643, during the Thirty Years' War, and from 1646 partially demolished. Below the ruins are the routes of the 18m high Leienfels climbing wall, from above you have a good view of the climbers.

The castle ruin Leienfels was a late medieval aristocratic castle, immediately northwest of the village of the same name Leienfels in Franconian Switzerland. The place belongs to the town of Pottenstein in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth in Bavaria.
