In 1967, the Crutchfield family opened a snack and junk shop in thriving Conway. At the turn of the millennium there was already nothing left of the place and people still benefited from the location on Highway 207, which crosses the Interstate here. The family installed Bug Ranch in 2002 to compete against big chains like Love's. Inspired by the well-known "big brother", the Cadillac Ranch, 5 VW Beetles ("Bugs") have been stuck upside down in the desert sand.
Unfortunately, not enough attention could be drawn, so that the Longhorn Trading Post had to close a year later.
