The Spielmann (3,027 meters) is a peak in the Glockner Group in the Hohe Tauern National Park, which lies on the border between Salzburg and Carinthia. If conditions are good, the Spielmann is a not-too-difficult 3,000-meter peak that you can reach from the Glocknerhaus via the lower Pfandlscharte.
The Spielmann is certainly one of the easier 3000m peaks to climb. Nevertheless, the tour from Hochtor is not to be despised. Past the Brennkogel you cross a large field of snow and the climb over the east ridge definitely requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. In some places there are impressive cliff edges behind which the path goes vertically downwards. The southern slope also has a decent gradient, so it's better not to slip here.
The view down to the lower Pfandlscharte or further to Franz-Josefs-höhe or the Glockner in the near distance is wonderful.
