The Côte de Stockeu is one of the highlights and one of the spectator magnets for the oldest cycling classic still held, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, which is why it is also called Doyenne and is one of the five cycling monuments. Only 1,100 meters long, it has ramps of up to 20% and an average gradient of over 12%. The best thing to do is to push yourself up, frenetically driven by the spectators, before cheering on the cycling elite on their arduous journey from Liège via Bastogne back to Liège. After the Côte de la Roche-en-Ardenne, the Côte de Saint-Roch and the recently conquered Côte de Wanne, the Stockeu is the fourth of a total of ten mountain classifications.
