Herdorf is a town in the Hellertal, north of Daaden in the Altenkirchen district (Westerwald) in Rhineland-Palatinate. Since July 1, 2014, it has been part of the Daaden-Herdorf community, the largest of which it is with around 7,000 inhabitants. Herdorf is a state-approved resort and designated as a basic center according to state planning.

Herdorf is located in the eastern part of the Altenkirchen district and in the south-west of Siegerland, 11.5 km south-south-west of Siegen. It is located at the confluence of the Sotterbach in the Heller, an eastern tributary of the Sieg. On the border between Herdorf and Neunkirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia lies the Hohenseelbachskopf, with 517.5 m the highest point in the local area. In addition to the Hohenseelbachskopf, the side knoll of the Hohenseelbachskopf [Mahlscheid] on the Herdorf side, which is also located on the border, is one of the highest elevations 508 m in the local area.
