The Herrlehof owes its name to a priest who bought a small house with a garden and modest pasture on the spot. The man of God was called "Herrle" by the surrounding farmers.
In 1898, the area, now a notable farm, passed into the hands of Daniel Lichti. Since then, the Herrlehof has been owned by the Lichti family. Fire broke out frequently on the estate, such as in 1917 and 1921. In 1922, after the roof truss of the house had been destroyed by a conflagration, Philipp Lichti built what is now the manor house in the neo-baroque style. A special feature of the manor is its striking water tower with a tower clock. The stucco work on the front of the house is also noteworthy.
Today the Herrlehof covers around 220 hectares of land, of which 200 hectares are arable land. The manor house is surrounded by a wonderful park. An important branch of business is the rental of holiday apartments.
