The Schweinbachtal > a geotope (excerpt from the Bavarian Environmental Atlas)
The Schweinbachtal is a typical “asymmetric valley” with a terrain shape like that in
Tertiary hill country occurs particularly frequently in valleys facing north-south. Due to the
Periglacial overprinting, the valley cross-section is clearly asymmetrical with flat slopes to the northeast
exposed slopes and steep valley sides sloping to the southwest. In the lower valley section is the
original morphology due to anthropogenic influence (building, water and road construction)
changed.
