Görlitz is rarely missing from the list of the most beautiful places in Germany. Around 4,000 monuments await you in the easternmost city of the Federal Republic. This makes Görlitz the largest German area monument. The city survived the two world wars largely unscathed. The historic townscape is one of the best-preserved old towns in Europe.
