At the site of the current church, a private church dedicated to Saint Severin was first mentioned in 1354. Due to the growing importance of the place, the chapel was expanded in 1794 to become a hall church made of rubble stone, as is noted on the portal in the west. In front of the nave, which is covered with a gable roof, is a church tower in the west that is rectangular in shape, the width of the nave, and the core of which dates from the first half of the 14th century. Its upper floors date from the Baroque period. In 1823 it was raised again and covered with a slate-covered, pointed helmet that was converted into an octagon. Two church bells hang in its belfry, which were cast by Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling in 1960. On the outside of the tower helmet there is a striking bell from the 17th century.
