A fascinating Sussex castle with a particularly interesting history through the ages. It was originally built in Roman times and has seen various modifications and additions since then, through the Norman Invasions, the Middle Ages and up to and including the Second World War.

The grounds are open to the public and you can wheel your bike through the east and west gates in the outer walls.
