If you cycle or walk through De Maurik and along the Langven, you will find yourself in an attractive cultural landscape with a variety of biotopes: bushes with badger castles, rugged grassland grazed by Scottish Highlanders and Konik horses, pools, and a stream (De Graafse Raam). , thickets, with adjacent fields and meadows. The area was created naturally long ago, but over the centuries, humans have left a clear mark on this landscape. This is reflected in the cultural elements such as the casemates, the 'Russendaal' campaign and the hamlet with its farms and Maria chapel.
