The Gülzow estate - popularly known as Gülzow Castle - was owned for centuries by the Schack noble family, from which the Danish field marshal Hans Schack emerged. The Schloßstraße in Gülzow leads along the estate, which is protected here by a long "castle wall".
1654 Gut Gülzow was Bonaventure III. sold by Bodeck. The Bodeck family owned the estate until 1739. During this period, wine was grown in Gülzow, as well as in other places in Lauenburg. This is substantiated by entries about vintners in Gülzow church books from 1684 to 1725. B. 1686 "September 13th the wine gardener and bird catcher copulated here on the estate Jürgen Ölenschläger from Frankfurt and Anna Sophia Pröschen von Schwarzenbek Kochin all here on the estate in our Gülzau church".
In 1739 Georg Ludwig von Kielmansegg acquired the estate from the Bodeck family; the Counts of Kielmansegg remained owners of the estate until 1930. Since then, the estate has been owned by the Fischer family of merchants from Hamburg.

Navigation needs to be adjusted!!!! It is private property and there are signs at the access roads (which we unfortunately didn't see at first) to indicate this, but according to the navigation you are directed over them :( which only leads to annoyance.......
