The Pöppendorf Ringwall is a hillfort near the village of Pöppendorf, part of the Lübeck district of Kücknitz in Schleswig-Holstein. It is one of the best-preserved and most impressive hillforts in East Holstein. It is also considered a textbook example of Slavic hillforts.

The ringwall was built on a small hill surrounded by a damp lowland to the northeast. It has a diameter of approximately 100 m and a height of 8-12 m above the surrounding area and 3-6 m above the interior.

The height of the ringwall is lower in the northeast, toward the damp lowland, than in the southwest. The gate is also oriented northeast.

The ringwall was built by the Wagrians in the 8th century and abandoned around the year 1000. The pottery found in the interior and during the removal of the western wall is Middle Slavic. The rampart would no longer have been in use at the time of the existence of Old Lübeck or at the beginning of chronicles in the 11th and 12th centuries.

According to K. Hucke, the Slavic burial mounds located on the "Pöppendorf Neck" are associated with it.

The settlement belonging to the rampart was located in the southwest, next to the rampart. Typical deep-cut shards from the Neolithic period were found beneath the pottery. This gave rise to the suspicion that a megalithic structure was hidden beneath the interior of the rampart. This assumption is supported by large boulders discovered during test excavations in the

first half of the 19th century.

The rampart is a listed monument. The Pöppendorf megalithic tomb is located nearby.
