After the purchase of several estates near Anwanden from 1883/1884 by Lothar von Faber, a manor was finally built after further purchases, which was inaugurated on August 27, 1902 and named "Wolfgangshof", after the eldest son of von Faber, who was born in July 1902 Count Alexander and Countess Ottilie von Faber-Castell (who died in March 1903).

The then advanced estate system (with wind engine, engine operation and electric light) was further expanded in the following years and, in addition to agricultural products, also produced allowances for the workers of the pencil factory A. W. Faber (today Faber-Castell) in nearby Stein. From 1967 dairy farming was given up and work on the estate continued with a horse breed of Bavarian Warmblood, which continued until 1993.

On January 1, 1976, Wolfgangshof was incorporated into Zirndorf as part of the local government reform in Bavaria.

After all, since 1994 the agricultural areas around the estate have been leased and the stables, halls and facilities have been used for various subsequent uses.

The Grüne Lust, a three-day market for green products and ideas, has been held here every year since 2002.

The Christmas market that used to be held at Schloss Hexenagger has also been taking place at Gut Wolfgangshof for a number of years
