Also easy to reach by train as the start and / or destination of tours. The beer garden in the Emminger Hof is a good end point of a tour.

"The Archabbey of Sankt Ottilien (lat. Archiabbatia Sanctissimi Cordis Iesu ad Sanctam Ottiliam) is a monastery of the Missionary Benedictines in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech (near Lake Ammer), which belongs to the Diocese of Augsburg. The monastery, together with the surrounding buildings, forms the parish of Sankt Ottilien (until 1904 Emming) of the municipality of Eresing.
The Archabbey is the parent monastery of the Ottilian Congregation. It was founded in 1884 by the Swiss Andreas Amrhein. The entire monastery association has 1100 monks in 19 countries, of whom around 110 monks live in St. Ottilien."
