A nice place and some nice old buildings. Especially worth seeing is the old university and the town hall. But otherwise Helmstedt is quite charming and worth a visit. You can spend the night in the centrally located Park Hotel.

The city hall is located in the heart of historic downtown Helmstedt on the edge of the market square. From the Hausmannturm you can walk in less than three minutes.

Dominating the entire market, the building was built in 1906 in the Neo-Gothic style in place of the former townhouse. Numerous towers and turrets decorate the well-preserved building and invite you to look at it.

We especially liked the entrance portal with the beautiful wrought-iron decorations. The town hall is next to the half-timbered houses in the old town one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Lovers of architecture will certainly spend a while here, for everyone else it is at least interesting and worth a visit.
