Part of the municipality of Onsernone, it is located at 1,085 meters in the highest part of the Onsernone Valley. The Palazzo della Barca, one of the magnificent palaces built by wealthy emigrants, became a refuge for anti-fascists, emigrants and many artists of those difficult times.

Comologno, part of the municipality of Onsernone, lies at 1,085 m in the furthest part of the Onsernone Valley. The Palazzo della Barca, one of the magnificent mansions built by wealthy emigrants, was owned by Mrs. Aline Valangin, who was married to Vladimir Rosenbaum, in the 1940s. The Barca developed into a refuge for anti-fascists, emigrants and artists such as Hans Arp, Sophie Täuber-Arp, Max Bill, Elias Canetti, C. G. Jung, Max Ernst, Meret Oppenheim, Ignazio Silone, Kurt Tucholsky, Wladimir Vogel and others
