The power plant is an impressive structure across a canal just before the confluence of the Lech and Wertach rivers. It was the first in 1901 to be built to generate electricity for cotton spinning and no longer for direct propulsion. Its huge flywheel had previously been shown at the Paris World's Fair.

Power plant at Wolfzahnau station 9 of the Augsburg water system
The power plant, built in 1903 at the confluence of the Lech and Wertach, currently supplies 15,000 people with electricity. The four-meter-high flywheel was shown at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900 as a symbol of German engineering architecture.
