The Municipal Museum is located in the building known as "La Cilla", former reservoir of the Dukes of Osuna, Gentlemen of the Villa. The original building dates back to the 16th century, although its noble white stone cover is from the 18th century. Between 1980 and 1985, La Cilla was reconverted as a new Town Hall, adapting the Carrera Street wing to the municipal administration and government units, and allocating the Victoria Square wing for other uses until it became the current headquarters of the Museum in 2004. The "Historical Memory" (Room 1) develops the sequence of Archidona from Prehistory to today. It includes the modules of Prehistory (I-II), Protohistory, Rome, Al Andalus, Christian Conquest, Modern Age (I-II) and Contemporary Age (I-II).
The "Collective Memory" (Room 3) develops the sequence of the annual festive and celebratory cycle of Archidona. It includes modules dedicated to: Carnival and Lent Cycle, Holy Week, May-July Cycle, August Cycle (August Fair and Pilgrimage of the Virgen de Gracia), Autumn Cycle, Christmas Cycle and Epiphany.
