    The 63 m high Schüberg is an impressive elevation of the Bocksberg-Schüberg mountain range. This regionally valuable geological object is a compression moraine from the Vistula glaciation, the last icing in our area that ended about 15000 years ago.
    This landmark of the municipality of Ammersbek is particularly protected as a natural monument.
    There is a memorial to the landowner Hedwig von Schmettau on the mountain.
    The rock stones on the mountain come from the (new) Elbe tunnel and are intended to illustrate the former block scatter from boulders, which is characteristic of an end moraine.
    The Schüberg seems to have been a popular excursion destination early on. There was a small house with a lookout tower at the beginning of the 19th century. This tower or another existed until the beginning of the 20th century.
     The Schüberg in the nearby big city served as a destination in the green until the 60s of the 20th century.
     But Hoisbüttler clubs (Liedertafel, Kriegerverein) also celebrated their festivals here.

      The summit of the Schüberges is a little further, but from here you already have beautiful views over the country. Two benches invite you to linger. In summer the view is overgrown, but a small natural window between the trees still offers beautiful views.

          Exactly! You still have to drive a bit until you get to the top. There is also a roofed rest bench on the other side. The view is even more beautiful there!

            You can either take a mountain bike up one of the trails or you can chain the bike and walk up the stairs.
            There are also great vantage points on the slope up to the mountain.
