Captain's village with pretty Frisian houses, mighty church and a quiet, 6 km long sandy beach. Old church, golf course ,.
St. John's, the mighty "Friesendom", was built in the 13th century. The baptismal font is one hundred years older. The precious carved altar dates from the late 15th century. In the shadow of St. Johannis, sailors are buried, who returned safe from all journeys and could enjoy their retirement on the home island. Around 40,000 people visit the cemetery of St. Johannis every year with its special gravestones.

Nieblum is, according to the Frisian name "Njiblem" (new settlement), actually one of the younger villages on Föhr. In Utersum at the tourist information on the beach it is possible for wheelchair users to rent a "water wheelchair". There is also barrier-free access to the sea. The wheelchair is made of aluminum with swimming wheels and floating armrests.
The place itself is very quiet. The view to Syslt and Amrum is fantastic, and you can also enjoy a sunset in good weather. The place also has its charm for windsurfers and kitesurfers, since it lies on the sea side. We had very good wind.

A picture-perfect Frisian village. Nieblum is arguably the most beautiful village on the island of Föhr. The village has received numerous awards for its unique charm. It's not without reason that every visitor to Föhr stops by here to marvel at the pretty captain's houses, the impressive church, and the "talking" gravestones.

Where the houses are cute and the Frisians are stubborn
Nieblum (also "Niblum" in the local Frisian dialect) is considered "the most beautiful village on the island of Föhr" – and not without reason. With its rows of well-kept thatched-roof houses, flower-filled gardens, and the striking St. John's Church, it looks like something out of a North Sea fairytale.
