One of the more famous locations along the Gibb River Road is the Pentecost River Crossing. The passage requires high ground clearance of the vehicle and is a small mental challenge depending on the season, and of course the practice of the driver. It should be noted that the water level here, far from the coast, is still influenced by the tides. The passage is rocky.
