Dubai's largest beach is Jumeirah Beach. It extends over several sections, so that there is not just one Jumeirah Beach, but several.
Most sections of the beach are also open to the public. These areas are often called Jumeirah Public Beach. However, there are also some private beaches in Dubai to which holidaymakers are not allowed. The most popular beach, which is also the closest to Downtown Dubai (including the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa), is divided into two sections. Both are approx. 400 meters long and offer you many cafés, bars and restaurants. The beaches are near the Jumeirah Mosque and the area is also called La Mer.
