In front of the cathedral of Santiago, in the Plaza del Obradoiro, you will see people crying, screaming, laughing, jumping and lying on the ground. You will see groups taking photos everywhere and celebrating (or lamenting) the end of their Camino de Santiago experience.
Every day this place brings together people from all over the world on pilgrimage.
The cathedral is in the Gothic style, although the current façade has many neo-Gothic elements.
One of its best known symbols is the botafumeiro. It is a huge silver censer that hangs from the ceiling inside the cathedral and is swung for solemn masses. Quite a show.
Three other majestic buildings frame the square: the Palacio de Rajoy in which the town hall is located, the Parador de Santiago and the rectorate of the university.

A lot of pilgrims arriving, finishing this wonderful experience.
