In April 2024, you will only be allowed to go as far as the Orongo car park if you do not have a national park pass or a guide.
Please note that for most of the sights on Easter Island you will need both a national park pass, which costs $80 for 10 days, and a guide (from around €60 per person): (counterclockwise from Hanga Roa) Orongo, Vinapu, Vaihu, Akahanga, Papa Tataku Poki, Tongariki, Rano Raraku, Te Pito Kura, Ahu Akivi, Ana Te Pahu, Ana Kakenga and Ana Te Pora. At the entrance to these sights, the valid national park pass with ID number and the ID will be checked and it will be checked whether you have a guide with you.
For the following sights you do not need a national park pass or a guide: harbor area and bathing opportunities in Hanga Roa, Ana Kai Tangata, viewpoint at the crater in front of Orongo, Pu o Hiro, Papa Vaka, Ovahe, Anakena and Tahai as well as many smaller sights on the island.
