Malham Cove is a beautiful curved limestone cliff that was formed at the end of the last Ice Age over 12,000 years ago. There would once have been a waterfall here carrying meltwater which created the 260 ft (80 metre) high and 980 ft (300 metre) wide cove. The sheer rock face is a great place to go climbing. Make sure you keep a lookout for peregrine falcons who nest in the area.
