High above Kelheim and the Danube you can see the impressive Liberation Hall from the bridge. The Bavarian King Ludwig I commissioned the building on the occasion of the victorious wars of liberation against Napoleon.
The hall was inaugurated on October 18, 1863 - exactly 50 years after the victory over Napoleon in the Battle of Nations in Leipzig.
