Here, from the east bank of the Bille, you have good views of the Billetal. The path that runs along the Bille is a hiking trail and MBT route - but you can also do it with a normal bike if you like it and are fit.

The Billetal is a Schleswig-Holstein nature reserve. The part of the Bille river that lies between the Grander mill and the confluence with the Reinbek mill pond is protected. This 176-hectare stretch of river is protected because it has near-natural structures typical of flowing water with an appropriate flora and fauna. The area has been under protection since 1987 and is part of the European ecological network Natura 2000.
The special habitats include rivers with flooding vegetation, high-rise meadows, riparian forests and Haimsimsen beech forests. The area borders directly on the Sachsenwald.

The area's special avifauna includes kingfishers, wagtails and the water blackbird that hibernates here. The Bille also has a number of fish species that place special demands on water quality. These include brown trout, grayling, loach and minnow.
