The Seriem mill "De Goede Verwagting", restored between 2003 and 2006, was built in 1804 on behalf of the millers C. S. Willems and V. Klasen. In 1812 the miller Röbe Eyben bought the mill and outbuildings. The last miller from the Eyben family, Tjark Ommen Eyben, owned the mill from 1881 to 1899. Then the miller Hermann Ferdinand Willms bought the mill. Willms invented the cross reinforcement ring (around 1910), which made the wings more stable. The original cross stiffening ring that was still on site was reattached as part of the restoration work to commemorate the inventor. In 1927 Willms sold the Seriemer mill to the master miller Engelbert Börgmann and his wife Engeline geb. Sterrenberg. Today's owner is their daughter, Eke Thaden.

The mill can be visited free of charge all year round. The mill association is happy to receive a donation.
