From Potsdam, the Herrmannswerder peninsula can be seen cycling long at the Kanu Club Potsdam and at the marina. The route is wonderful with the view over the Havel on Herrmannswerder. Benches invite you to linger. I recommend the onward journey past the Hotel Arcona and then over the Zeppelinstraße and the Geschwister-Scholl-Straße to the park Sanssouci. There are good bike paths that go in different directions - worth it anyway.

Wonderful view of Hermannswerder

Hermannswerder is a peninsula in the Havel and is located in the southwest of Potsdam. It protrudes into the Templiner See and is therefore part of the Templin suburb. There are various historical and modern buildings on it in calm and peaceful surroundings. The island is part of the landscape protection area of the Potsdam forest and Havel lakes area. The 40 hectare southeast area belongs to the Evangelical Hoffbauer Foundation. On the rest of the north-eastern area, the Tornow and Küssel headlands, there have been villas and single-family houses since the 1920s. The ferry connection between “Auf dem Kiewitt” and “Hermannswerder” or the 693 bus to the “Küsselstraße” stop on Hermannswerder are ideal for excursions.
