When the English Queen Victoria visited 1845 together with her husband Albert Hochheim on the Main, the owner of the winery Georg Michael Papstmann came up with the idea to rename a vineyard after the royal visit. Five years later, Papstmann had the vineyard name authenticated. As the first and only vineyard, the Hochheim location was then allowed to bear the name "Queen Victoria Mountain".

The inscription reads: "Her Majesty Victoria Queen of Great Britain and Ireland had the grace to bestow her high name on this vineyard. In honor of the exalted monarch and as a grateful reminder of such a gracious award, this memorial stone was erected by G.M. Pabstmann, Hochheim, 24 . May 1854"
