Many years ago, when this road was not yet built, it meant that at this point you had reached the highest point of the old trade route to Eisenach. From here it went down towards Mihla. An oak located at the site was a landmark for all who used this path over the Hainich.
At this point there was an old oak tree that served as a landmark for a former trade route. Unfortunately, the oak no longer exists, but a new tree was planted by a local association at the beginning of the millennium.
