Part of the preserved historic ox trail through sand heath and grasslands. Looks pretty bleak at first glance, but the "desert" is alive!
Technically, there is also a bit of life under the tunnels. Although it is only slightly downhill on mostly solid sand, pushing over the light bumps gives you the speed you need without pedaling too much! Easy to drive, but I still had a lot of fun!

The course of the western Ochsenweg can still be clearly seen in the Karrharde between Leck and Enge: in the Langenberger Forest, a section of the Ochsenweg runs for almost 5 km. This path, which is under protection of nature and monuments, is the longest still largely preserved section in Northern Europe and gives an idea of what the Ochsenweg was like at the time: it was little more than a sand track furrowed by carts.
