Artificial Beauty. MTB highlight, hmm. Somehow, the view over the quarry pond at the still active gravel works is magically attractive, especially when the weather is nice, and the shore invites you to linger (even if you have to make do with "natural seating").
At the marked point you can drive up directly to the lake, a bit to the west along the lake and then steeply down again. (Although up and down now sounds greater than it is. We're talking about a meter difference in altitude here😉 Nevertheless, the steepness will certainly pose a small challenge for one or the other XC rider.)
The path between Alter Travemünder Landstraße and the Forellensee road itself, on which the quarry pond is located, is a nice transfer route between Waldhusener Forst and e.g. Hemmelsdorfer See or Hohes Lieth via Beutz or Sereetzer Tannen... No more but also no less.
