Ostrva is a faint but very popular Tatra peak. It forms a broad conclusion of the southwest ridge dominated by Končista. A beautiful view of the Mělník valley, the High group and the Zlomísk valley. The red mark - Tatranská magistrála - leads to Sedlo pod Ostrvou, from which many tourists rebound to the top with a striking short but unmarked sidewalk. The first visitors were poachers and hunters. The first trail to the top was built from Vyšné Hágy in 1886, the path was built by the Uherský Karpatský spolek. The name "Ostrva" means a wooden construction for hay, usually a tripod from a log. Beneath the western slopes lies the Symphonic Cemetery of the victims of the Tatra Mountains.

The climb in serpentines is worth the effort. From the saddle you can look far to the southeast on the lowland, as well as Strbske Selo and Popradske Selo.
