Lassan harbor on the Peenestrom
The small town of Lassan has a port on the Peene River. In 2009 the jetty was modernized. In the Middle Ages the port was once important as a trading port, especially for Anklam, when there was no railroad. Around 1900 even a small train ran from Lassan to Anklam. Nothing of that can be seen today. There is good smoked fish in Freest Harbor. In the port area, a provider who offers charter trips with a villa ship has its branch. With a houseboat for rent you can explore the backwaters and the Peene River.
The port on the Peenestrom is popular with water sports fans and sailors in the summer season. Fishermen have their mooring in the harbor, so that you can buy freshly caught fish in the morning hours when the fishing boats come back from the Achterwasser and Peene stream.
In summer you can take a boat tour to the island of Usedom.
