The forest of Paimpont is known to be one of the emblematic places of the "gesture" of King Arthur and his knights of the round table. In other words, it is nothing more and nothing less than the famous Brocéliande forest. The Brocéliande forest is a mythical forest imagined by Chrétien de Troyes at the end of the twelfth century. In his Arthurian novel “Knight of the Lion”, he invents this forest of wonders, taking inspiration from a forest in Little Brittany known for its legends and other marvelous stories, “Bréchéliant”. Today, it is in the Paimpont Forest that the myth of this magical forest is perpetuated. It is a place highly charged with stories and legends. There you will find remarkable trees, the superb Paimpont Abbey on the edge of the pond, as well as certain places connected to Merlin the enchanter and the fairy Viviane.
