The Monte Rosa hut is also called “rock crystal” thanks to its shape and shimmering aluminum shell. After six years of planning, the innovative, self-sufficient building was opened in 2010. Located at 2,883 meters, the unique wooden building offers a fantastic view of the Gorner Glacier, the Matterhorn and other peaks.

I was still in 2005 at the old Monte Rosa hut, with a great view of the Gorner Glacier and the Matterhorn. The sunsets and sunsets are legendary.

Very nice, modern hut (you can hardly say more), wonderful view of glaciers and mountains. The Matterhorn can be seen from a lesser known side
