Landgoed Appel is a centuries-old area with a varied landscape of heathland, grasslands and forests. Spread across the estate are beautiful, authentic farms. Various initiatives are being taken to strengthen biodiversity.

In a centuries-old cultural-historical landscape near Nijkerk lies Familielandgoed Appel. This 296-hectare family estate was already cultivated in the Middle Ages with beautiful high enggronden, alternating with wet low hayfields, which are often enclosed by beautiful hedgerows and hedgerows. On the east side of the estate are mainly wet heathlands, while the western part is characterized by a beautiful coulisse landscape with leafy forests. There are many different types of trees to be found, such as oaks, ash and alders, which are often planted on rebates. There are also many animals and insects to be found, including red deer, pine martens and thirty different types of dragonflies.
