The moor adventure trail is a fascinating journey of discovery through the Inzeller Filzen, one of the last large moorlands in the Chiemgau Alps, about five kilometers long. Here nature stores water like a giant sponge, comes up with mysterious beauty, and is the habitat of many rare plants and animals. Inzeller Filzen was created 12,000 years ago when the endless glaciers of the last ice age slowly melted.

Various renaturation measures have been implemented in Inzell Filzen since 2003. Old drainage ditches were closed and former peat cuttings were dammed. The measures are bearing their first fruits and floating peat moss has already spread. Source: inzell.de
