The quadrangle or Celtic ski jump is the remnant of a rectangular, mostly square area with a circular rampart and ditch, which is found mainly in southern Germany. Their interpretation has not yet been finally clarified. However, recent research has confirmed that some of the quadrilateral ramparts were permanently inhabited Celtic estates or the center of a rural settlement. On the other hand, it is not excluded that the Celts also surrounded their places of worship with square enclosures. [1] For most quadrilateral ski jumps there are no or only sparse examinations, so that general statements about their purpose are not yet possible.

In the area of the Free State of Bavaria, the most extensive stock of late Celtic quadrilateral ski jumps in Central Europe has been preserved with about 170 currently known and visible in the area facilities. The archaeological monuments, which are dated throughout the late Latène period, are mostly insufficiently archaeologically researched.
