The Hinterm Horn lake is located in the southeast of Hamburg in the Vier- und Marschlanden, south of Neuallermöhe in Bergedorf. The groundwater-fed lake was created between 1978 and 1982 by removing sand for the construction of the motorway and the elevation of the Neuallermöhe terrain.
On the northwestern bank there is a swimming area with a sandy beach and a 20 meter wide lawn. There is no separate non-swimmer area.
Attention: There are edges near the bank where the water suddenly becomes very deep. This is typical of a quarry pond. There is no lifeguard.

Hidden away is this bathing area with a sandy beach. The lake Hinterm Horn is a former excavator hole, here sand was taken for the construction of the highway and for the elevation of Neuallermöhe.

Small beautiful lake located directly on the dike. But there are no parking spaces here, so it is more recommended for locals or cyclists.
