Interesting greed cable ferry across the Elbe. Always a nice break on a bike tour when you can catch your breath on the ferry. There is also the opportunity to stop for a break on both sides.

The yaw cable ferry is not driven by a motor, but by the flow of the Elbe. It hangs on a long rope that divides shortly before the ferry. The two short ropes are fastened near the bow and stern. The ferry goes in the direction in which the rope is shorter.
In 1657, this sustainable technology was invented by the Dutch Hendrick Heuck from Nijmegen.
