The 12 APOSTLES are not near Dollnstein, but about 10km away near Solnhofen in Middle Franconia. Dollnstein is in Upper Bavaria and belongs to the Eichstätt district. There are many trails around Dollnstein with great views. One of the well-known rocks is the Burgsteinfelsen, between Dollnstein and Breitenfurt. The Maderfelsen are also a highlight, especially the trail underneath, the so-called Path of Thoughts. The Stupberg is also a mega highlight. It is worth climbing, although without a bike, and you are rewarded with a mega view of the ring wall, the castle hill, etc.
The trail that is the highlight here is in the Urdonautal with a view of the whole of Dollnstein, the Dollnstein pond and of course the Urdonautal towards Ried.

Great trail that is a bit narrow in places along the slope. In some places you need to be careful as the path is very steep, narrow and has small rocks. Even more critical when wet.
